First Friday in November 2016

First Friday in November 2016.

12 Promises of the Sacred Heart of Jesus:

#11. Those who propagate this devotion shall have their name written in My Heart, and it shall never be effaced.

Promise #11 is not hard to fulfill.  Start small.  Order 20 Sacred Heart of Jesus cards.  Few dollars. Give them to family, relatives and friends.  Leave some in the Church lobby.  You are already a promoter of the Sacred Heart devotion.

Remind the Lord often of these promises. Jesus loves to be reminded.  Not that He forgets.  It is important for you to know deeply that the Lord is faithful.

When trouble surrounds you from all sides

King David faced many crisis in his life. But none was as heart wrenching as the rebellion of his favorite son, Absalom. David was forced to flee Jerusalem with a limited army. In great sorrow mixed with memories of God's deliverance in the past, he penned Psalm 3. What do you do when you are faced with serious problems on all side? No job, no money, faltering health, erratic children? It is just the time to discover the power of God's word. This word is written to instruct us, comfort us and convict us in such situations.

Count your blessings

One way to come out of depression in top speed is to count your blessings. Savor Psalm 103 and as you do so, note your blessings one by one.

When you have sinned grievously

What do you do when you find yourself in very serious sin? Go to your sanctuary. Open your Bible and read Psalm 51

No matter the troubles

Have you ever been overwhelmed by circumstances? Unpaid bills, erratic children, no jobs? Name it! God is always a sufficient refuge. Enjoy Psalm 46 and thank God for His word.

Waiting for the Lord

Have you been waiting for the Lord for a longtime? Then be comforted by Psalm 40.

Presence of the Lord

In the Old Testament, God instituted two ways to gain the blessings of His presence:
The Sabbath and the Temple. Can you identify one of these in Psalm 27?
